Traditionally, if your outboard needs attention, the process looks like this: back the trailer down the ramp, load the boat, tow it across town to a shop, drop it off, and wait — sometimes days or weeks — for a bay to open up. Then you make the trip again to pick it up. For a boat that lives on a lift or in a slip, that also means an extra launch and haul-out, plus the wear and tear (and risk) of towing a boat that isn’t running right in the first place.

What Actually Happens
Let’s say you call us because your boat has been sluggish, hesitating at higher RPM, and occasionally stalling at idle. Here’s how it plays out:
1. We schedule around your boat’s location, not a shop’s calendar. You tell us where the boat is — your dock, a marina slip, a storage yard, your driveway — and we schedule a visit. No need to figure out how to move the boat first.
2. We show up and get to work where the boat already is. If your boat is on a lift, we simply raise it to a comfortable working height. That’s actually one of the best possible setups for us — the lower unit, propeller, and through-hull fittings are all easily accessible without hauling the boat anywhere, and we’re not fighting tide or chop while we work.
3. We diagnose on-site with the same tools we’d use in a shop. For a rough-running, power-loss complaint like this example, that typically means a visual and compression check, a look at the fuel system and filters, a check of the prop for fishing line or minor damage, and a scan for stored fault codes if the engine is EFI. We’re not guessing — we bring professional-grade diagnostic equipment to every call.
4. We explain what we found before doing anything. If it’s a fouled fuel filter and a nicked prop, that’s usually a same-visit fix. If it’s something bigger, we give you a straight answer and a plan — not a surprise bill.
5. We do the repair right there. Most maintenance and repair work — fuel system service, spark plugs, impellers, prop swaps, electrical troubleshooting, and more — doesn’t require a shop bay. It requires the right parts and the right technician. Since your boat is already up on the lift, we have clean, dry, stable access the entire time.
6. You’re back on the water without ever moving the boat. No trailer, no ramp, no waiting for a shop appointment to open up. The boat goes from “not running right” to “ready to go” without leaving its lift.
